  • Belt Tips

    Meaning of our colored "tips" on the belts:

    These are colored tape strips that instructors place on student's belts when associated goals have been met for the student's age, rank, and physical abilities:

    • Yellow - Student has learned the 1-step sparrings associated with their belt.
    • Orange - Student has learned the kicking combinations for their belt.
    • Green - Student has learned the "poomsae" (form) for their belt.
    • Blue - Student meets the physical fitness goals set for their age, physical abilities, and belt.
    • Red - Student has learned the breaking techniques for their belt.
    • Brown - Student knows the "TKD Philosophies" associated with their belt.
    • Black - (optional) Used to indicate student attendance goals that have been met.
