We are creating a 501c(3) non-profit Federation of Martial Arts Members (Schools, Clubs, and Individuals), following the same basic pattern of all of the other martial arts Federations of the world, of which the following are a few examples:
World Taekwondo Federation (WTF)
International Taekwondo Federation (ITF)
World Karate Federation (WKF)
World Hapkido Federation (WHF)
International Kung Fu Federation (IKF)
USA Wusu Kungfu Federation (USAWKF)
Our own Federation is called the Lions Martial Arts Federation, or Lions Federation.
The Lions Federation has a curriculum that is best characterized as traditional “old-school Taekwondo” (for better self-defense than modern WTF Taekwondo), but uses the eight poomsae’s of modern WTF Taekwondo.
Our chief advisor for our Lions Federation program is Korean Grandmaster Yong Woo Kim.
Goal #1:
Help each of our schools to have their own martial arts program, where we provide the curriculum and the instructors. We will pursue the establishment of “cradle-to-grave” programs across all age groups that emphasize a common core of (1) martial arts, (2) self defense, (3) fitness and health, and (4) proper discipline and assertiveness.
Pursing this goal is the first step in reaching for goal #2...
Goal #2:
To create a fully accredited university level Academy of Sports Science and Martial Arts. This is exactly what Georgia Central University (GCU) has done, and we want to do the same thing. You can see their program at:
Click the “ACADEMICS” menu link, then scroll down to “SCHOOL OF SPORTS SCIENCE”. GCU’s program is an accredited university program that prepares students for transfer upon graduation to four-year institutions to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Taekwondo, Martial Arts, or a related Sports Science field. We want to create something similar.
Goal #3:
Pursuing goal #2 should naturally lead to goal #3, which is to pioneer a path for other of our academic programs to learn how to create their own fully accredited programs that can be plugged into our university.
